  • Railyard Ice Rink is seeing a boost in business as warmer winter weather draws locals to its outdoor skating rink in the Haymarket, which stays open daily through Feb. 16 with tickets priced at $16 for adults + $10.75 for children.  KOLN

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Tyson Foods is set to close its Lexington beef plant on or around Jan. 20 — a new UNL report estimates it will lead to over 7,000 statewide job losses and an annual drop in tax revenues.  KOLN

SPORTS NEWS

  • Notre Dame transfer quarterback Kenny Minchey has committed to Nebraska, joining the Huskers under coaches Matt Rhule and Dana Holgorsen. He has two years of eligibility remaining as the team builds its roster for the upcoming season.  KNOP
  • Britt Prince scored 17 points to lead the Huskers to a 78-62 win over Purdue on Sunday, with three teammates recording double figures & the team set to play Indiana on Thursday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  KNOP
  • Lincoln's Huskers have added their first transfer quarterback as Notre Dame backup Kenny Minchey (a dual-threat since he has two more years of eligibility) joins to boost coach Matt Rhule's plans for the 2026 season.  KOLN
