  • Capital Humane Society has launched Lincoln's first 24/7 microchip station (offering round-the-clock pet identification) to help owners quickly reunite lost animals with their families.  KNOP

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lincoln's Solar Semaphore sculpture, a downtown landmark (since the 1970s), will be relocated as the former Centrum mall is transformed into the new main library. City officials say the change will preserve its legacy and refresh the urban environment.  Lincoln Journal Star

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Travelers can book one-way flights from Lincoln and Omaha to Denver for as low as $29 starting in January, with additional options available in February and beyond. Local residents will benefit from these budget-friendly fares.  Lincoln Journal Star

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lincoln Transportation and Utilities announced that StarTran will launch a phone service for paratransit scheduling and cancellations in mid to late January in Lincoln. The new service will let riders check ride status and connect with dispatchers while reducing wait times to seconds.  KFOR

  • On Jan. 9, Nebraska wrestling beat Purdue 36-3 at the Devaney Center with three major decisions and two pins that boosted their record. The team will face Minnesota on Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. (CT) on BTN.  KFOR
