- ➤ After Tyson closed its beef processing plant last November, thousands in Lexington lost their jobs; state agencies and local organizations now are helping residents with job searches, resume support, and English classes at the Department of Labor offices (open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). - ➤ With the Lexington plant closing, Lincoln officials are launching a workforce development program that pays $17.75 an hour for tree planting and offers weekly workshops on financial literacy & one-on-one career coaching to build local skills. Lincoln Journal Star
