- ➤ Hershey hosted a teammates appreciation lunch yesterday to honor National Mentoring Month, recognizing local mentors for their work. The event will support ongoing mentoring initiatives in the community. KNOP
- ➤ Registration is open for a guided sandhill crane viewing trip scheduled for March 5 at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center near Alda & will include a shuttle, wildlife stops, a private blind viewing, and a meal in Grand Island. Guests must register by Feb. 23. KOLN
- ➤ Two Crown Pointe mothers launched a petition for more accessible playgrounds after finding the nearest park is over a mile away — affecting children with disabilities. The petition, which has more than 200 signatures toward its 500-signature goal, seeks action from Lincoln Parks and Rec. Nebraska Now
- ➤ At The Bean Box in Bennet, customers lined up Wednesday morning to support the family of 7-year-old Charles Kohl after his tragic death; the shop donated 25% of sales and a local bakery gave 50% of sales while an online fundraiser raised over $30,000 in one day. KOLN

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Lincoln–Lancaster County Health Department installed HealthToGo machines at four spots (the Health Department on O Street, F Street Community Center, Union Plaza near 21st and P, and Carriage Park Parking Garage) to offer HIV tests, condoms and emergency contraception.
