EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lincoln Littles, Lincoln Public Schools & Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department continue their partnership to offer free quarterly safety training for child care providers across the city, aiming to improve safety standards at local centers.  Lincoln Journal Star

SPORTS NEWS

  • Jacob Willardson, a 6'5 pitcher from Grand Forks, announced his commitment to Nebraska after visiting the Nebraska vs. Purdue game. He is working to be a key player when he begins his junior season at Red River this spring and joins Nebraska in fall 2027.  Nebraska Now
  • Nebraska lost by a 5 to 3 score to Kansas State on Saturday night at Globe Life Field in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series and will face No. 16 Florida State tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the same venue.  KNOP
  • Huskers defeated Utah Valley 32-6 on Saturday night in the season finale, closing the regular season with a four-dual win streak. They will enter postseason action at the Big Ten Championships in University Park starting March 7.  KNOP
  • Nebraska women's basketball won 66-65 on Sunday when Britt Prince hit a three-pointer with seven seconds left at Alaska Airlines Arena; the win snapped a six-game losing streak against top-25 teams.  KNOP
  • Horses filled Sandhills Global Event Center’s parking lot on Sunday during the 30th annual Twisted Classic Barrel Racing event in Lincoln, where riders from across the Midwest raced in *5D* barrel racing. Organizers announced the next event is set for March 13 in town.  KOLN
  • Paxton senior Ella Fote was named Athlete of the Week after reaching a career milestone of 1,000 points, and the Lady Tigers (17-6) will face Silver Lake Friday night for a chance to earn a berth in the Class D2 state tournament in Lincoln.  KNOP
