- ➤ Bryan Seck, Lincoln Literacy's executive director, delivered 5,000 free beds to help families avoid sleeping on the floor. He partnered with local businesses such as Spreetail and Duncan Aviation - and co-founded the MyLNK app that connects residents with essential services. Nebraska Now
- ➤ The Center for Rural Affairs announced a slate of local awards to honor rural community champions, including Lincoln rancher Al Davis who will receive the Seventh Generation Award. Presentations are planned for this spring. Fox Nebraska
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded at 3:45 a.m. (Monday) when a fire destroyed the railroad bridge over Salt Creek in west Lincoln. Lincoln Journal Star
- ➤ A rail bridge collapsed near Sun Valley Boulevard and Line Drive on Monday after an early morning fire; Lincoln Fire & Rescue and rail teams monitored hot spots as Union Pacific & BNSF have not provided a repair timeline. Nebraska Now

- ➤ The UNL Center for Great Plains Studies will host the Great Plains Futures conference from March 31-April 2 at the UNL campus to mark its 50th anniversary, featuring keynotes, panels, and workshops on environmental trends, rural change, Indigenous futures, and demographic shifts (open to scholars and the public). - ➤ Nebraska Athletics, Linked2Literacy, and Sheldon Museum are hosting a youth literacy event called Reading through Art: The House on Mango Street from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 26 at the museum, featuring gallery talks, hands-on art activities and community stories based on Sandra Cisneros’s book. KOLN

- ➤ Number 10 Nebraska softball finished an undefeated weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City on Sunday, Feb. 22, improving its record to 11-4. It will travel to Stillwater to face No. 24 Oklahoma State on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. (CT). KFOR
- ➤ Last Sunday, Nebraska's women's basketball team rallied at Washington as Britt Prince hit a game-winning three-pointer with seven seconds left — the Huskers snapped a six-game losing streak against top-25 teams and improved their record to 17-11. KFOR
- ➤ The Nebraska men's basketball team dropped out of the AP top 10 after a 57-52 loss to Iowa, falling to No. 12, before recording an 87-64 win over Penn State at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Huskers will face Maryland on Wednesday at 6 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. Nebraska Now
