- ➤ HobbyTown in Lincoln celebrates 80 years in business today as owners Dan Schmidt and Chelsy mark 20 years of ownership + former staff are expected to join the anniversary celebration. KOLN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Norris School District will vote in May on a $34.8 million 20 year bond issue to upgrade buildings for safety and ADA compliance. Plans include adding secure entrances, new bathrooms, & a highway entrance loop with an open house on April 9 at 6 p.m. KOLN
- ➤ Lincoln City Libraries received a $30,000 grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York on Friday to support services at Anderson and Bethany branches and Bennett Martin Public Library. The grant, part of Carnegie Libraries 250, highlights the ongoing role of Carnegie-funded buildings in Lincoln. KOLN

- ➤ A Turning Point USA event featuring Gov. Jim Pillen is postponed due to security concerns identified by the Nebraska State Patrol; the event, scheduled Friday evening at UNL to cover leadership and public service, will be rescheduled with enhanced security. KOLN

- ➤ Four local girls basketball teams earned berths in the NSAA tournament after winning district championships Friday. The tournament runs from Wednesday, March 4—Saturday, March 7 in Lincoln. KNOP
- ➤ Nebraska beat Auburn 9-8 in 10 innings at Plainsman Park Friday night after Will Jesske hit a 3-run home run in extra innings. The Huskers will face Auburn again in game two (today at 2 p.m.) as they look to build on their win. Nebraska Now
- ➤ On Friday, the Nebraska beach volleyball team won matches against Trinidad State (5-0) and Wayne State (4-1) at the UNL Campus Beach Volleyball Courts. The Huskers will host Oklahoma Wesleyan Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Alloy Strength Complex. KNOP
