  • Rock bands 38 Special and Kansas will perform at the Pinewood Bowl Theater on Saturday, June 20. Presale tickets are available on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and general sales open Friday at 10 a.m.  KOLN

  • Nebraska farmers are facing higher costs as fertilizer prices jump over 30% and diesel is up from February due to a Middle East conflict, and some are cutting back on nutrients & switching crops while bracing for food supply challenges.  KNOP

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Anti-Defamation League released its annual campus antisemitism report on Tuesday, grading UNL a C on public administrative action. The report finds that while campus life thrives, Nebraska policies fall short and recommends an advisory council and mandatory antisemitism education (UNL said it remains committed to campus inclusion).  Nebraska Now

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Brady Volunteer Fire Department says two prescribed burns will occur in Boxelder Canyon south of Maxwell and north of Gothenburg along the Lincoln Custer County line. Residents may see smoke and equipment as officials manage the burns to reduce wildfire risk.  KNOP

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dale Steele, a 100-year-old veteran, passed on Feb. 11 and became the oldest organ donor in U.S. history when his liver was transplanted by Live On Nebraska; the hospital held a hero walk to honor his legacy. His donation marks a breakthrough powered by advanced technology + community support.  Nebraska Now
  • Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and Crusade Against Colon Cancer offer free, easy-to-use colon cancer screening kits at local pharmacies for residents aged 45 to 74 through April 30. The kits honor Colon Cancer Awareness Month and help with early detection.  KFOR

  • Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg (tied the school win record) was named Big Ten coach of the year and signed a contract extension through 2030-31. Pryce Sandfort earned first-team All-Big Ten honors by averaging nearly 18 points and setting a record with 110 3-point field goals.  Nebraska Now
  • Yesterday, Nebraska men's basketball received Big Ten honors — Coach Fred Hoiberg was named Coach of the Year, and Pryce Sandfort earned first-team honors while Braden Frager received Sixth Man recognition. The Huskers will play in the Big Ten Tournament Friday at 5:30 p.m.  KFOR
  • Four local boys basketball teams are set to compete in the NSAA State Tournament in Lincoln, with Valentine opening on Wednesday at Devaney Center and St. Pat’s, Ogallala and Gothenburg starting Thursday.
