ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Authorities confirmed on Friday that one person was killed in a wildfire in western Nebraska when the blaze north of Highway 92—between Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Lake McConaughy—burned about 340,000 acres and remains 0% contained. Nebraska Now

- ➤ Google has proposed a massive data center in Nebraska that will require more power than all of Lincoln uses & will be powered by a privately built gas plant. Lincoln Journal Star
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ U.S. Wildfire Service crews from Arkansas helped local fire departments manage wildfires along Highway 77 north of Beatrice on Thursday and arrived yesterday to support a prescribed burn at Homestead National Historical Park today to keep the prairie healthy. KOLN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said that four major wildfires broke out Thursday afternoon near SW 112th and W Pioneers and SW 100th and W Martell; evacuations lasted four hours and crews contained most fires by early evening. KOLN
- ➤ Governor Pillen issued a statewide burn ban on Friday due to dry, windy conditions and deployed state resources to reduce wildfire risks; the order will remain until 11:59 p.m. on March 27. KOLN
- ➤ On Thursday, the sheriff’s office said multiple fire departments fought four major wildfires in southwest Lancaster County and issued evacuations near S.W. 112th and W. Pioneers that lasted nearly three hours—crews contained most flames by early evening and no injuries were reported. KNOP
- ➤ Friday morning, Dawson County Emergency Management advised affected residents to avoid returning to Farnam amid ongoing wildfire operations in southwest Dawson County; Highway 47 and some county roads remained closed as crews secured impacted areas. KNOP
