  • Lincoln Airport launched a new online booking tool called FlyMyAirport that lets travelers compare flight options & costs using a calculator from Strategic Knowledge. The service helped users review flight schedules and travel costs compared to other regional airports.  KFOR

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Lied Center announced its 2026-27 Broadway Series — featuring Hamilton from April 13-18, 2027, plus Shucked, Water for Elephants, Clue, and a mystery show to be revealed in May. Season ticket packages starting at $249 went on sale March 9 and offer consistent seating for all five productions.  Fox Nebraska

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Eleven Lincoln Fire and Rescue members are battling a Morrill County wildfire in western Nebraska; the blaze started last Thursday when a power pole was blown over and a snapped wire ignited the fire, which has burned about 650,000 acres and is 18% contained as of Wednesday.  KFOR
  • Nebraska will see record-breaking heat this weekend as Lincoln forecasts climb into the upper 80s and low 90s - 87° on Friday and possibly 93° on Saturday - which increases fire danger amid dry conditions before a cool down to near-seasonal temperatures Sunday.  KOLN

  • Insurify's report (released Wednesday) shows that Nebraska home insurance premiums rose 25% last year as severe weather drives up claims and repair costs; the increase is part of broader regional trends.   • A UNL survey published March 18 shows Nebraska’s ag land values fell 1% to $3,905 per acre due to lower crop prices, higher input costs, and tighter margins (cropland rentals dropped while grazing and hayland values rose); free virtual workshops are scheduled for March 24 and 26.  Fox Nebraska

  • Fans gathered at Rosie’s Sports Bar and Grill to watch the Nebraska women’s team play in their first NCAA Tournament game on Wednesday night. The Huskers won against the Richmond Spiders as local supporters cheered the team effort.  Nebraska Now
