A Lancaster County judge ruled Thursday that 46-year-old Alaric Harden, charged with first-degree murder in the death of 76-year-old Larry Cole from a north Lincoln home, is not mentally competent to stand trial and has been ordered to receive treatment at Lincoln Regional Center—his competency hearing is set for May 20 at 10 a.m.

Garrett Hanika, 37, who rammed a Lincoln police cruiser and ran over his passenger in a hotel parking lot, was sentenced yesterday to 40-55 years in prison after taking a plea deal that amended two charges and dismissed four others.

Police said a juvenile stabbed a woman in the back near 63rd and Lexington in the Bethany neighborhood at about 4 p.m.—her injuries were minor and the juvenile is in custody.
