  • Lincoln officials urge residents to review their severe weather plans and determine safe shelters at home, work, or school as Severe Weather Awareness Week begins tomorrow, Mar. 23.  Lincoln Journal Star
  • The Cottonwood Fire burned 128,036 acres across Dawson & Lincoln counties before reaching 80% containment, and firefighters lifted the evacuation order for Jeffrey Lake residents on March 20. Crews said operations remain underway as challenging weather affected work.  KNOP

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lincoln Fire and Rescue posted photos from its work amid wildfires in western Nebraska Saturday and urged residents to avoid burning items during the Red Flag Warning today (Sunday, March 22). Responders handled five calls on Saturday for backyard trash fires.  KOLN

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nebraska lost 2-1 to Michigan on Friday at Ray Fisher Stadium in Ann Arbor (ending an 11-game win streak). The Huskers' pitchers combined for 4.1 scoreless innings in relief after taking the lead early in the game.  KFOR
  • Husker fans traveled to Oklahoma City for the NCAA tournament game, with thousands turning Paycom Center red as they witnessed a historic win.
