EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Scott Middle School math teacher Alicia Davis received the 2026 Scottish Rite Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award and a $10,000 prize Friday during a special assembly by school administrators (LPS) and Scottish Rite members. KOLN
- ➤ State lawmakers narrowly advanced LB 1050 — a bill that gives parents final say on whether third graders repeat a grade if scoring below reading level — to add intensive acceleration classes beginning in the 2028-29 school year. KOLN
- ➤ Lincoln teacher Alicia Davis was surprised on Friday when she received the Scottish Rite Educator of the Year award + a $10K check during a local ceremony that recognized her dedication to education. Lincoln Journal Star
