- ➤ Lutheran Family Services in Lincoln is helping refugee women learn to drive using a new simulator funded by a $46,280 grant from the Nebraska Presbyterian Foundation. Instructor Tariq Qasim teaches lessons at 2301 O St.—the three-week course will give students practical training before they begin road instruction. Lincoln Journal Star
- ➤ Eastmont Retirement Community in Lincoln held Monopoly for the Monarch on Sunday where residents played 55 minute rounds of Monopoly to raise funds for its charity hospice care fund. The fund provided about $90,000 of support over the past four years to help pay for hospice care that costs more than $400 a day (the event aimed to ease financial burdens for families). KOLN

- ➤ Lincoln G.O.L.D. hosted its 10th annual Scholarship Gala on Saturday to raise funds for scholarships that help local students attend colleges plus offer career path classes and mentorship opportunities. The event featured live and silent auctions with proceeds supporting the scholarship program that has provided 311 awards and mentoring for 242 girls over the past decade. KOLN
- ➤ Farmer Paula Peterson uses her Facebook page to share her 'Watch Me Grow' series that documents baby calf Lil' Beauty's growth, which started on Jan. 14th. About 20 to 25 classrooms from Lincoln to Omaha have sent letters thanking her for bringing farming lessons to students + the series aims to inspire the next generation of farmers. Nebraska Now
