CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Joyo Theatre, near North 61 Street and Havelock Avenue, is celebrating community milestones as its marquee honors birthdays, anniversaries, and sports achievements. Owner Dwight Carter, who has run the theatre for 28 years, said the revived neon lights help people relive cherished memories and start new ones. KOLN
- ➤ The iconic Kissing Columns at UNL's City Campus stood for over 80 years before their removal in 2021. The landmark remains a beloved part of local history and campus heritage. Lincoln Journal Star
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Nebraska's No. 8 softball team won 11 to 5 over Rutgers on Sunday at Bowlin Stadium with head coach Rhonda Revelle earning her 1,200th win during a seven-run first inning that swept the series. The Huskers will face Wisconsin in Madison on Friday at 7 p.m. KNOP
- ➤ Jordan Larson played her final home match for LOVB Nebraska (a five-set loss to LOVB Austin) last Saturday at Baxter Arena, recording 19 kills and 20 digs. The retiring player was honored with a tribute video and her No. 10 jersey displayed on a banner as she thanked the crowd. KNOP
- ➤ No. 19 Nebraska baseball improved to an 11-1 Big Ten record with an 8-6 win over Penn State on Sunday at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park. The Huskers will face Kansas Tuesday, April 7. KNOP
