- ➤ Lincoln police arrested James Duncan Monday for allegedly holding a man at gunpoint in an apartment near 9th and D streets when he fired three times and struck his victim's head+the victim escaped when Duncan’s loose dog distracted him+officers later located him near 9th and Washington streets after a search uncovered shell casings, a live round and a bullet hole. - ➤ Six candidates advanced in Tuesday’s primary for three Lincoln City Council seats, including incumbents Sändra Washington, Tom Beckius and Bennie Shobe, former Councilman Jerry Shoecraft, and Stan Parker, with the final spot remaining between Maher Aurang Zeb and Elina Newman. Councilman Tom Duden advised Lincolnites to research the candidates and vote on May 6 as these seats will affect local public safety and budget decisions. Nebraska Now
- ➤ Lincoln voters overwhelmingly approved on Tuesday an extension of the quarter-cent sales tax known as Lincoln on the Move that will fund eight more years of street improvements, according to the Lancaster County Election Commission. City leaders thanked voters and community leaders for supporting the initiative and confirmed that funds will continue to be used for critical roadway upgrades. KOLN
