CRIME NEWS

  • During a Tuesday evening traffic stop in northwest Lincoln, law enforcement arrested two individuals after seizing nearly $1 million worth of fentanyl pills totaling about 49,000 in number.  Lincoln Journal Star
  • Lincoln Police are investigating a robbery at Russ’s Market on Apr 2, when a suspect in a dark-colored hoodie stole groceries and knocked an employee, and an assault on Mar 18 at a fueling station near 27th and F where a suspect in a green hoodie hit a woman with his phone—officials said both suspects were identified by their clothing details.  KFOR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Voters in Lincoln backed an effort in Tuesday’s city primary to extend a quarter-cent sales tax for street improvements so that the measure now runs through 2033—Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and Transportation Director Liz Elliott said the move supports ongoing projects with Lincoln On The Move.  KFOR
  • Governor Jim Pillen signed LB 168, the 340B Contract Pharmacy Protection Act, into law on Wednesday at a ceremony in Lincoln; the bill stops drug makers from blocking sales to hospitals, clinics and pharmacies. The law makes sure hospitals that take Medicaid do not pay high prices and lets state or county lawyers enforce it.  KOLN
  • Lincoln City Councilman Bennie Shobe announced Wednesday he will run for a third term as an at large council member—he said he will focus on securing funding for public safety, street repairs, affordable housing and climate action.
