- ➤ Lincoln's new skatepark opened Tuesday at 7th and N streets in the Haymarket, offering 30,000 sqft of skateable space with quarter pipes, rails and a 9-foot deep clover bowl. Officials say Canopy Yard will add features such as a water element and playground — with most work finishing by year-end. KOLN

- ➤ Cheba Hut Toasted Subs will soon open in the Telegraph District, offering a cannabis-themed toasted sub joint that blends homegrown recipes with a chill vibe. The franchise has grown steadily over 27 years (with more than 75 locations across the U.S.). KOLN
- ➤ Painted Tree Boutiques closed abruptly on Tuesday, so business owners at its Lincoln store, 2960 Pine Lake Road, had to retrieve their inventory promptly + a skeleton crew assisted with the process. KOLN
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Journey will perform at Pinnacle Bank Arena on July 6 at 7 p.m. as part of its Final Frontier Tour, and all tickets from the rescheduled April 9 show (moved due to illness) remain valid. KOLN
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A controlled burn was conducted Tuesday morning on five acres near the bison viewing area west of the Pioneers Park Nature Center, lasting until noon. The park road east of the Bison Loop remained closed until 5 p.m. and park staff monitored conditions (using controlled burns to reduce wildfire risk). KOLN

- ➤ The Nebraska Public Service Commission approved a refund plan from Black Hills Energy to return $4.7 million to customers after interim rates ended, with most receiving a one-time credit on their upcoming bill and former customers owed over $2 getting refunds by mail. KNOP
