- ➤ The U.S. Customs and Border Protection launched an online tariff refund portal on Monday, Apr. 21 to help Lincoln businesses claim millions in overpaid duties. - ➤ The Nebraska Department of Economic Development suspended grant payments for the Chief Standing Bear biopic after the production company allegedly failed to secure matching funds and shuffled grant money between related companies (a Notice of Suspension was sent on April 17), leaving the film’s future in doubt. - ➤ Nebraska’s new Department of Water, Energy and Environment, formed last year by merging agencies, is saving $1.8 million as it improves water quality, energy efficiency and infrastructure.
