  • A new music recording and rehearsal studio opened Thursday in downtown Lincoln at 13th and N streets and offers free use of instruments for recording and practice—allowing musicians to book time at any hour. The 1,200-square-foot venue, equipped with world-class technology, was funded by American Rescue Plan Act grants and is managed by the Downtown Lincoln Association on behalf of the city.  Nebraska Now

  • On Thursday, Nebraskans gathered at the Capitol for People’s Day to speak with lawmakers about voter-approved measures and the delay in a medical marijuana program. Voters like Lia Post and Sen. George Dungan said repeated rehashing of these issues has left many feeling unheard—underscoring deep divisions in the Legislature.  Nebraska Now
  • Lincoln Parks and Recreation invited community members to review its Ballfield Assessment Report — a detailed evaluation of 37 ballfields — and share feedback through an online survey open until May 15 at 5 p.m. The report will guide future repairs, renovations and maintenance on Lincoln's ballfields.  KOLN
  • A bill to extend the eligibility threshold for Nebraska food benefits advanced to its final lawmaking round Tuesday after lawmakers defeated a late amendment described as hostile—LB 192 would remove the October expiration and help more than 4,000 families remain on SNAP.
