- ➤ The Sandhills Global Youth Complex, the first of its kind in Nebraska, officially opened Saturday as community leaders including Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and board chair Charlie Colon spoke at the ceremony plus special guest Alex Gordon highlighted the new facility. The all-turf complex with eight fields now hosts local and regional tournaments and college teams and is expected to generate a $15 million to $20 million economic impact over the next 12 months. - ➤ The Husker Bass Anglers hosted a free youth fishing event at Holmes Lake on Sunday that taught kids basic fishing skills and featured food and supplies donated by the Knights of Columbus. The club was named Nebraska’s sport club of the year for 2025 — it will join more events across the country. Nebraska Now

- ➤ Nebraska lawmakers face a $314 million budget gap after tax cuts and property tax relief lowered state revenue, and they will soon debate how to cover the shortfall. - ➤ Six former Huskers signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents after the NFL Draft — Isaiah Neyor with the 49ers, Ben Scott and John Bullock with the Buccaneers, Jahmal Banks with the Ravens, Nash Hutmacher with the Ravens, and Isaac Gifford with the Panthers.
