- ➤ People’s City Mission ran out of bottled water Monday and asked for donations Tuesday at its 6800 P Street location. Pastor Tom Barber said rising gas prices have left donations short, prompting the call for community support. Nebraska Now

- ➤ El Potrero Mexican Restaurant in south Lincoln is closing its branch (located near 40th Street and Old Cheney Road) on Thursday to focus on its downtown location. Its last day is April 30 and gift cards will still be honored there. Nebraska Now

- ➤ Lincoln Public Schools hosted the LPS Music Festival at Lincoln East High School (organizers joined Channel 8 News at midday to preview event details). The event celebrated student participation and school spirit. Nebraska Now
- ➤ Southeast Community College broke ground Tuesday on a new 45,000 sqft life sciences center in Lincoln to expand capacity for anatomy, biology, and molecular classes + the $30 million project, funded by a two-cent tax levy, private donations and increased fees, will finish in fall 2027. KOLN
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Bryan Health will honor cancer survivors in June by placing ribbons showing survivors’ names at its three Lincoln campuses (Bryan East, Bryan West and the April Sampson Cancer Center). The proceeds will fund wellness activities including art, music and support programs. KOLN
- ➤ The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center launched two tools that let local groups view cancer trends and screening rates across Nebraska.
