- ➤ Police said they are investigating an early Saturday morning assault outside Barry’s Bar near Ninth and Q streets where a 28-year-old man was found unconscious after an argument over reentry and was taken to hospital for a brain bleed—witnesses reported that the suspect had already left when officers arrived. - ➤ Lincoln Police are searching for a missing 10-year-old girl named Zouri Cotten who was last seen Sunday at 8:30 p.m. near an apartment complex at West A and Southwest 27th streets and has pink corn rows, brown eyes, and a birthmark on her right cheek; anyone with information should call police at (402-441-6000 or 911 in an emergency). - ➤ A 7-week-old Lincoln boy is treated at Children’s Hospital in Omaha for injuries that occurred two to four weeks ago while in the care of his father, 26-year-old Kaprees King, who turned himself in Monday morning for felony child abuse. KFOR

- ➤ Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird met with second graders at Hartley Elementary on Monday after they sent a persuasive letter asking for changes at Hartley Park. The city will consider proposals—such as adding swings and slides—to be implemented by 2027. KOLN

- ➤ A team from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln developed a new vaccine strategy that may end the need for yearly flu shots since lab tests showed vaccinated pigs had strong, long-lasting immunity—researchers now plan to test a vaccine that will protect against both H1 and H3 strains.
