- ➤ Lawmakers in Lincoln will debate overriding Gov. Jim Pillen’s veto on LB319 Monday afternoon; the bill would let Nebraskans with three or more drug convictions who complete a treatment program receive SNAP benefits. Thirty votes will be needed to pass the override — some lawmakers worry it may allow drug dealers to get support. KOLN
- ➤ Earlier this year, Nebraska Public Power District bought rural Lancaster County land for $5 million from Ronald and Donna Starzec — a price about five times its assessed value — to build a new power plant next to its Sheldon Station for rising energy needs.
