  • Sunday night's storms left 1,200 south Lincoln residents without power (outage started at 6:26 p.m.), and Lincoln Electric System crews are working to restore service.  KOLN

  • Three artists won top honors in the America 250 poster contest, and one artwork will advance to national consideration. City officials announced the winners today to highlight local creative talent.  Lincoln Journal Star

  • Lincoln Transportation and Utilities announced two street closures today to support essential utility work in downtown Lincoln — residents are advised to follow posted detour signs.  Lincoln Journal Star
  • On Thursday, Lincoln’s Historic Preservation Commission recommended establishing a new local historic district for former corner stores (14) to protect the city’s neighborhood legacy.  Lincoln Journal Star

HEALTH NEWS

  • Families and mental health advocates gathered on Saturday at Holmes Lake Park for Will’s Walk hosted by Where There’s a Will Foundation to honor William Duval, raise mental health awareness, and advocate for PANS resources, while the Duval family works with state senators to secure support.  Nebraska Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • Alexis Jensen and Jordy Frahm pitched a one-hit shutout as Nebraska beat GCU Lopes today, extending a record 24-game win streak and moving into its first home Super Regional — they will face Oklahoma State next weekend with details to follow.  KNOP
  • Due to forecast severe weather Sunday, the NSAA rescheduled state soccer championships to Tuesday and Wednesday and advanced Monday's baseball start times by one hour with a rolling schedule at Werner Park, Fricke Field, and Tal Anderson Field.  KOLN
  • The Cornhuskers finished the Outdoor Big Ten Track and Field Championships today with five conference titles and three runner-up performances, as top athletes set personal bests and meet records. They will travel to Fayetteville for the NCAA West First Round Regional May 27-30.  KNOP
