- ➤ Gas prices are rising in Lincoln as Memorial Day weekend nears. According to a GasBuddy survey from Monday (146 stations), the average price for regular unleaded gas hit $4.19 per gallon. Lincoln Journal Star
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials advised residents on Monday to report storm damage like downed trees and power lines; call the Lincoln Police nonemergency line for blocked streets, contact Community Forestry for public trees, or reach out to Lincoln Electric System (LES) for power line issues. KOLN
- ➤ On Sunday night, tornado warnings in eastern Nebraska triggered sirens across Lincoln because any warning in a siren zone sets off the entire system (Emergency Management Director Jim Davidsaver urged residents to use cell apps and NOAA weather radios for fuller alerts). KOLN

- ➤ The West Central District Health Department will install Heart Hubs at public places (including the Lincoln County Courthouse) to offer free blood pressure screenings and heart health tips. The new initiative aims to help residents better monitor their heart health. KNOP
