- ➤ Firefighters quickly contained a fire in a second-floor hallway at Parkview Apartments on Tuesday morning at 11th Street and Cornhusker Highway — investigators suspect that an accelerant was used while no one was injured and the first and third floors were not damaged. KOLN

- ➤ Gov. Jim Pillen withdrew his planned $14.5 million line-item vetoes from Nebraska’s two-year budget on Tuesday—resolving a constitutional dispute as lawmakers now move forward with the budget passed on May 15. Pillen, Secretary of State Bob Evnen and Speaker John Arch said the decision leaves the veto targets moot and sets up budget adjustment talks when lawmakers reconvene in 2026. Nebraska Examiner
- ➤ Nebraska lawmakers advanced a legislative proposal to ban most consumable hemp and THC products by a vote of 32-15 on Tuesday. - ➤ State Sen. Jane Raybould attached her minimum wage proposal—limiting annual raises to 1.75% and adding a youth minimum wage—to Sen.
