  • Michael Alan opened his fourth Let It Fly Sports Bar in Lincoln on Thursday to a crowd of Husker fans and Nebraska softball players. The venue offers many TVs, brick oven pizzas (and Tower drinks) and invites locals to enjoy the live sports atmosphere.  Lincoln Journal Star

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lincoln Public Schools leaders dismissed a Harvard and Stanford study that found students lag more than one full grade level in math and reading since 2019, calling the report (fruit in a blender) in a recent statement.  Lincoln Journal Star

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nebraska's historic softball season ended on Sunday when the Huskers lost 3-1 to Texas at the Women’s College World Series after a three-run home run in the sixth inning shifted the game. Pitcher Jordy Frahm became the first player with 20 wins plus 20 home runs after her first-inning homer.  Nebraska Now
  • Arizona State beat Nebraska baseball 11-8 at Haymarket Park on Sunday during the NCAA Lincoln Regional, which runs Friday through Monday. The game marked a competitive weekend in the ongoing tournament & set the stage for upcoming matchups.  KNOP
  • Nebraska Capital Planning Facilities announced on Friday that turf installation for Rhonda Revelle Field at Bowlin Stadium is underway. The project updates the softball facility named for longtime coach Rhonda Revelle and marks ongoing improvements at the stadium.  KOLN
  • Husker guard Cale Jacobsen and Bluejay forward Isaac Traudt coached youth athletes on the final day of a three-day camp in Lindsay on Monday, June 1st. They set aside in-state rivalry and shared advice on skill, work ethic, and teamwork.  KOLN
