  • A local fundraiser will be held today at Pla-Mor Ballroom at 7:00 p.m.—the event will raise money to support the Charlie Wilson House, a residence that offers long-term care and independent living for young adults with profound disabilities.   • Lincoln police are searching for 76-year-old Charlotte Starkey who was last seen near Russ's Market at 33rd and Nebraska Parkway around 8 p.m. Thursday — she wears a white t-shirt, orange undershirt, dark blue jeans, grey shoes and a black baseball cap and suffers from dementia.  KOLN
  • A 33-year-old man already in jail for active warrants was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree assault and using a firearm to commit a felony in connection with a Saturday morning shooting near 26th and Potter that wounded 32-year-old Cidnei Williams and 41-year-old Anthony Brown—police continue to search for another person involved.  KFOR
  • Police said 33-year-old Terique Jackson is accused of shooting two people at a north Lincoln home over the weekend and was arrested on charges including first-degree assault and using a firearm to commit a felony — with victims still hospitalized and his co-driver facing accessory charges.  Nebraska Now
  • At about 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Cornhusker Square Garage elevator, police said that 45-year-old Joshua Love—on parole—attacked a woman by asking for sexual favors before choking her and grabbing her, and he threatened her with pepper spray and pulled rope from his backpack before being arrested nearby.  Nebraska Now

  • The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will meet June 19 at 9 a.m. to review a proposed 2025-26 budget that includes a 5% tuition increase and nearly $20 million in cuts due to flat state funding and federal limits—university officials say the measures are designed to maintain affordability while supporting academic priorities.  KNOP

  • Attorney General Mike Hilgers filed a lawsuit in Lancaster County District Court against Temu on Wednesday, accusing the company of unlawfully collecting consumer data after its app installs malware that gives the Chinese government access to phone details. The suit also alleges that Temu deceptively markets low-cost products and infringes on intellectual property rights of Nebraska brands including Runza, Cabela's and the Huskers.  Nebraska Now
