- ➤ Attorney General Mike Hilgers said his office sent cease and desist letters to 82 Lincoln vape shops for selling THC products that are mislabeled—nearly all tested items showed illegal Delta-9 levels that exceed legal limits. - ➤ Proposed cuts to SNAP will impact about 150,000 Nebraskans—reducing food access for families, farmers and small-town retailers—and groups like Nebraska Appleseed are urging senators to vote against the bill in the Senate. - ➤ The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has awarded the new prison project to Hausmann Construction— a local contractor— to build a 1,512-bed facility that will replace the Nebraska State Penitentiary and begin construction in early fall. - ➤ Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner announced his retirement after more than three decades at the sheriff's office and will not run for reelection in 2026.
