- ➤ Little Free Pantries in Lincoln are running low on supplies as high temperatures push up demand for food assistance. - ➤ On Sunday, 600 cyclists rode Lincoln's bike trails during the annual Trail Trek hosted by the Great Plains Trails Network to raise funds for local trail improvements. - ➤ Lincoln Crimestoppers is asking for tips on two burglary suspects seen on security cameras near North 70th and Stanton after a man returning home discovered his open back door and broken frame on June 12 with about $200 in cash and $3,000 in quarters missing from a dresser—witnesses later reported a Scion tC with front-end damage and a dog in the area. - ➤ Lincoln Police rescued four dogs from a hot car at Gateway Mall after the animals were trapped in a locked vehicle for about 45 minutes (the inside temperature reached nearly 99°) and cited a 56-year-old from Idaho for the incident. KOLN

- ➤ The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s board approved a new Bachelor in Multidisciplinary Studies program for transfer students—while the UNO chancellor warned that its similar name to an established program from 1951 could cause confusion. The program, which will allow students to choose core academic planning and themed courses, is expected to enroll up to 100 students and generate an extra $500,000 in annual tuition revenue.
