- ➤ Westlake Ace Hardware in Lincoln raised over $3,500 from May 19 to June 7 to buy 194 box fans that were delivered Friday for the Salvation Army to help vulnerable people beat the heat — the fans will be distributed next week. Nebraska Now

- ➤ Police arrested a 17-year-old on Thursday after an armed robbery over the weekend at Holmes Lake—he and two others robbed a 21-year-old at gunpoint, stealing his firearm, phones, cash and keys, and police later recovered the stolen handgun during a vehicle search. Nebraska Now
- ➤ Lincoln police said a 39-year-old man was shot near a gas station at 28th and O streets early Friday and no arrests have been made. Lincoln Journal Star

- ➤ Dozens of smoke shops in Lincoln removed unauthorized THC products from their shelves after Attorney General Mike Hilgers sent cease-and-desist letters last week—82 stores were affected. Some shop employees worried over lost income as customers started to seek alternatives. KOLN
- ➤ In Lincoln, the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission approved emergency rules yesterday to set how medical cannabis will be made and given out while limiting dispensaries to one per judicial district (12 total). Gov. Pillen must sign the rules before they take effect for 90 days, and the commission asks for public feedback by July 15 while licensing regulations are due by July 1 so businesses can apply by Oct. 1. - ➤ The City of Lincoln reminds residents that fireworks may only be used during designated hours (8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 3 and 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on July 4) and only on private property with safe handling and proper debris disposal. Residents should report any violations (402-441-6000) to the police to help prevent fire hazards. KOLN
