- ➤ As of July 1, Memorial Stadium now allows only concession sellers aged 18 or older due to a new contract with Aramark Sports—Entertainment that ends the practice of kids selling snacks at games. - ➤ A Lincoln man (68-year-old John Hansen) died on Sunday when his 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo sped on Highway 41 west of Road 19 in Fillmore County, veered off the road, rolled over, and left him fully ejected while responders from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office and Geneva Fire and Rescue transported him to Fillmore County Hospital where he died (after immediate medical assistance was provided). - ➤ A Lincoln man was arrested after a 100 mph chase on Interstate 80 when he drove off after a stop in Sarpy County and police ended the chase near Lincoln by using stop sticks that caused his car to hit a stop sign. Lincoln Journal Star
- ➤ An Omaha man, 44-year-old Joseph Hamlin, ran from a Lincoln trooper near 24th Street and Himebaugh Avenue on Saturday — he did not show his ID, had warrants, and carried brass knuckles — before he swallowed a white powder, was taken to a hospital, and was arrested on suspicion of blocking an officer, resisting arrest, and having a deadly weapon.
