- ➤ Alisha Nunn—39 from Omaha—was arrested Monday at Menards in north Lincoln on felony shoplifting charges after security video showed she and two others began a series of thefts on May 3 that took over $5,500 in merchandise—generators, power tools, and landscaping tools. Nebraska Now
- ➤ A Lincoln man named Jay Petersen died when his silver Nissan Altima rolled over seconds after a deputy attempted a traffic stop for speeding near Southwest 98th and Highway 6 Monday night — the deputy was placed on administrative leave and a grand jury will review his in-custody death — state patrol is investigating the incident. - ➤ Lincoln authorities arrested a 32-year-old man on parole Monday when investigators found drugs, a handgun and a smoke grenade at his home—he now faces charges related to drug possession and firearm violations. KOLN

- ➤ On Tuesday, Lancaster County commissioners approved nearly $300,000 in grants from the Visitors Improvement Fund—using lodging tax dollars—to boost local organizations and refresh Lincoln attractions. KOLN
- ➤ Lincoln’s Urban Development Department submitted a blight study to the planning commission for a July 23 meeting on north Lincoln below Cornhusker Highway and above Holdrege Street. The study from January and February found most buildings, curbs, and sidewalks are in okay condition — though aging water and waste pipelines may lead to issues if not updated, with a redevelopment proposal expected for city council review by mid to late August.
