ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A vehicle crashed into the porch of a south Lincoln home on Thursday at about 10:10 a.m.—damaging the porch fence and a nearby mailbox as the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries near South 29th Street and Collister Road. Nebraska Now
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Nebraska judge postponed the extradition hearing for Gavin Thompson (23), who was arrested after a crash near Lincoln following a four-hour manhunt on charges related to the death of Dorinda Segebrecht in Wisconsin—he will remain in the Lancaster County Jail with his next court date set for Sept. 16. This decision came as the judge rejected a request for a competency evaluation to avoid using Nebraska taxpayers’ funds. Nebraska Now
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Over two-thirds of Nebraskans reported job satisfaction in a survey by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Bureau of Sociological Research conducted in summer and fall 2024. The survey showed that workers earning over $100,000 were more satisfied—with 34% very satisfied and 47% satisfied—than those making $50,000 or less, of whom only 17% were very satisfied. KOLN
