- ➤ Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, former Husker Volleyball Coach John Cook and community leaders announced a proposal yesterday for a $16 million youth volleyball facility near 27th and Folkways with plans to start with eight courts and later expand to 12. The project will be funded by reallocated state sales tax and $4 million in private money—pending approval from Governor Jim Pillen and Lincoln voters. KFOR
- ➤ Food Fort held a block party Wednesday evening outside Saratoga Elementary—where kids played games, ate a meal, and received backpacks filled with school supplies—to support families ahead of the school year.
