- ➤ Dakota Thomas, a 20-year-old motorcyclist involved in a crash on August 6 in east Lincoln after fleeing a traffic stop near 52nd and O, was arrested last Thursday—he was treated at a hospital for non life-threatening injuries before bonding out and is set for a court hearing on Sept. 23. KFOR
- ➤ A 20-year-old Lincoln motorcyclist, who fled a traffic stop on Wednesday and later crashed his blue Suzuki near 52nd and O Street, will face charges including operating a vehicle to avoid arrest, reckless driving, failure to display proper number of plates and a missing motorcycle operator’s license after being released from the hospital on Thursday—he will post bond on Friday with his next hearing set for Sept. 23. - ➤ The Lincoln Police Department is searching for missing 13-year-old Neeamani Synhorst who was last seen Saturday around 6 p.m. near Northwest Sixth and West Saunders streets, wearing a black T-shirt with a blue and white design and described as 5-foot-9, about 220 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes; anyone with information should call 402-441-6000. - ➤ Standing Bear High School will welcome its inaugural senior class this Wednesday—adding over 300 students to bring total enrollment to about 970, just under its 1,000-student capacity. Lincoln Journal Star

- ➤ The City of Lincoln announced on Monday that it had opened five new storm debris drop off sites where residents can drop off wood debris at no charge from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Aug. 24—important for clearing storm damage safely. Nebraska Now
- ➤ Lincoln City Council approved a four-year contract with Capital Humane Society on Monday to cover costs for placing animals in new homes for a starting fee of $1.25 million this fiscal year. The contract includes annual increases and a new $10 pet licensing surcharge—an effort to fill the funding gap. Lincoln Journal Star
- ➤ The state of Nebraska reached an agreement on Monday with several truck manufacturers that ended a lawsuit over an electric truck mandate. Attorney General Mike Hilgers said the deal voids the Clean Truck Partnership and protects the diesel truck industry from outside regulation. Nebraska Now
