- ➤ Marla Weber and her sister placed a headstone on their great-great-grandmother’s unmarked grave near Kramer in Lancaster County after uncovering records that showed she jumped into a flooded creek to save her son nearly 140 years ago—her brave act is now preserved for her family. - ➤ Lincoln Mayor Gaylor Baird was elected second vice president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and stands in line to become the organization’s president in 2027 — she is the second Lincoln mayor to earn this role.
