Good morning, Lincoln.
🎓 Education
Lincoln Public Schools reported strong hiring this spring and filled all teacher vacancies but are still seeking over 60 paraeducators and transportation workers, officials said.
Lincoln advocates say that federal plans to remove Head Start regulations will likely affect local programs supporting low-income children and families, and they worry that upcoming changes will reduce essential services.
🏛️ Government

The distinction may help lower property insurance premiums for local homeowners and businesses.
🏥 Health
Families gathered at the state Capitol on Wednesday to push for changes to the new interRAI assessment system, which they worry may lower one-on-one care levels for loved ones—state officials will begin a four-month independent review while advocates say they will keep fighting for accurate care support.

The $18 million project will create 95 units (studios to three-bedroom apartments) with rent at $1,000 per month; a public hearing is set for Aug. 24 and completion is planned for Oct. 2027.
The former Veterans Hospital will be transformed into 95 affordable housing units for seniors and veterans at Victory Park with construction beginning in September and ending in October 2027 — the project preserves the building's historic façade.
