- ➤ The Good Neighbor Community Center in Lincoln is asking for donations as its shopping floor remains nearly empty with winter approaching—50 families visit on busy days and it needs men's, women's, and kids' clothes along with household items to help everyone in need. Nebraska Now
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two men accused of assaulting and robbing a 63-year-old man who met one suspect on a dating app were arrested on Sunday after the victim was lured to Woods Park in Lincoln—police said he suffered injuries to his head, ribs, arms and legs when an attacker in a ski mask struck him and his phone and debit card were taken. - ➤ Mr. Calvin Haywood, a campus supervisor at Lincoln High for 6 years, makes sure students and staff feel safe and welcome each morning—he greets students at breakfast and checks that hallways are secure. He worked over 30 years for the Department of Corrections and nearly retired after a health scare but stays a key part of the school community. KOLN
- ➤ University of Nebraska–Lincoln will reveal its proposed $27.5 million budget cuts in the coming week to address years of financial shortfalls and a drop in international student enrollment. The plan may include college consolidations and voluntary buyouts for older faculty while freezing salaries and increasing tuition by 5%. KNOP

- ➤ State Sen. Kathleen Kauth is taking the first steps to propose impeachment of NU regent Elizabeth O’Connor, who faces a felony DUI charge after a May 21 crash that injured several people in Omaha — she discussed the matter with the Governor’s Office and legislative leaders. Kauth will announce her plans Sunday — action set to influence the Legislature when it reconvenes in January. KNOP
- ➤ State Sen. Kathleen Kauth plans to start impeachment proceedings against NU Regent Elizabeth O’Connor, who faces a felony DUI charge from a May 21 crash in Omaha’s Benson neighborhood—several people were seriously injured.
