CULTURE NEWS

  • Lincoln’s historic Joyo Theater will begin showing The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 10 p.m. every Friday starting Oct. 3 to mark the film’s 50th anniversary, with fans encouraged to dress in costume for the live event held in the Havelock neighborhood—an invitation from owner Dwight Carter that recalls the theater’s early days.  KOLN

  • The top Nebraska volleyball team swept Maryland on Saturday with scores of 25-14, 27-25, 25-14 and remains undefeated at 12-0. Coach Busboom Kelly said the team used film study to build their game plan and will face Penn State on Friday — adding that they will play Rutgers the following Saturday.  Nebraska Now
  • On Saturday, the top Nebraska volleyball team beat Maryland 25-14, 27-25, 25-14 in front of 8,477 fans at John Cook Arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers will play at Penn State on Friday at 7 p.m. and Rutgers on Saturday at 6 p.m.  KNOP
  • On Saturday, Nebraska Wesleyan beat Luther College 44-7 at Abel stadium with Trystin Myers scoring two touchdowns and Joey Mclaughlin catching key passes for three scores. The Prairie Wolves are now 1-3 and will play Dubuque next Saturday at 2 p.m.  Nebraska Now
  • Doane volleyball completed a reverse sweep against Morningside yesterday—winning three straight sets after losing the first two—to improve their record to 10-9. The Tigers will start a three-match road trip Tuesday with a game against Kansas Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m.  Nebraska Now
