Today in Lincoln, a touring Broadway production of the Tina Turner musical opened at the Lied Center with a creative team of women that used local talent to sew the costumes— the show will travel to more than 60 cities and tells Tina Turner’s story of triumph and hardship.

Audiences will soon witness the powerful journey of a celebrated music icon as the production moves from town to town.

On Saturday, search and rescue teams from Nebraska, Washington, California, Missouri, Indiana and Colorado came to Lincoln for FEMA certification of their dogs — they had 20 minutes to search an 11,000 square foot pile at the Lincoln Fire & Rescue training center to prepare for emergency responses.
