- ➤ Today in Lincoln, a touring Broadway production of the Tina Turner musical opened at the Lied Center with a creative team of women that used local talent to sew the costumes— the show will travel to more than 60 cities and tells Tina Turner’s story of triumph and hardship. Audiences will soon witness the powerful journey of a celebrated music icon as the production moves from town to town. KOLN

- ➤ On Saturday, search and rescue teams from Nebraska, Washington, California, Missouri, Indiana and Colorado came to Lincoln for FEMA certification of their dogs — they had 20 minutes to search an 11,000 square foot pile at the Lincoln Fire & Rescue training center to prepare for emergency responses. - ➤ The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team swept Rutgers 25‑17, 25‑15, 25‑16 on Saturday night at Jersey Mike’s Arena, where 8,000 fans watched the match— the largest crowd for a volleyball game in New Jersey. The Huskers posted their fifth straight sweep and will host Washington Friday at 8 p.m. at John Cook Arena. KNOP
- ➤ Nebraska’s volleyball team swept Rutgers on Saturday by winning three sets 25-17, 25-15 and 25-16; they also swept Penn State the day before, marking their fifth sweep in a row while they prepare for a home match against Washington on Oct. 10. Nebraska Now
