- ➤ Aging Partners announced that starting Nov. 5 hot meals will be offered to seniors age 60 and older at Victory Park in two 45-minute sessions from 11:15 a.m. to noon plus 12:15 to 1 p.m.; meal reservations must be made two days in advance. Nebraska Now
- ➤ More than two dozen federal workers at the Lincoln Airport continue to work without pay during the government shutdown, and the community has partnered to deliver daily meals and essential items — including lunches from Chick-Fil-A and treats from Pasture View Sourdough — to support them. Local partners remain ready to assist while other airports reach out for ideas on how to help their workers. KOLN
- ➤ Nora Martinez, a single mother who once struggled with food insecurity, will launch the Black Sheep Fusion Food Trailer this Saturday in The Hub parking lot to serve meals on a pay-as-you-can basis. - ➤ The Capital Humane Society honored 10/11 meteorologist Brad Anderson by naming a dog suite and a cat colony after him at Pieloch Pet Adoption Center during Thursday's noon newscast. - ➤ Gary Myers from Lincoln was honored on Thursday by the Nebraska Community Blood Bank for his lifetime donation of over 300 gallons of blood—he has given more than 3,000 units since beginning at age 19 and now challenges 9,000 people to donate. Nebraska Now
