- ➤ Lincoln nonprofit Connected Forever is crafting holiday sweaters from fabric and felt to bring hope to babies in the NICU—volunteers, parents and children gathered at the Front Porch coffee shop to design tiny ugly sweaters that remind families they are not alone during tough times. - ➤ Lincoln will honor veterans on Veterans Day Tuesday, November 11 with a Veterans Walk starting at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Stadium—followed by a ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Auld Pavilion in Antelope Park featuring remarks by city officials and National Guard members. - ➤ The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team swept No. 22 Minnesota in Minneapolis for the first time since 1982 in front of 5,312 fans at Maturi Pavilion—Andi Jackson led with a season-high 15 kills as the Huskers improved to a 24-0 record and secured their 15th straight sweep. - ➤ Milford Eagles won their first ever State Championship on November 8 at (Bob Devaney Sports Center) by defeating the Holdrege Dusters in four sets, with sophomore Shayla Rautenberg and senior Kylie Jakub leading the team. The Eagles opened with a 25-13 win, lost the second set 25-16, then won the third and fourth sets 25-15 and 25-19 to clinch the title. Nebraska Now
- ➤ The Norris Titans won their second straight Class B championship on Saturday night — beating the Elkhorn North Wolves in four sets — with Nebraska commit Malorie Boesiger leading with a game-high 48 assists and nine digs. Nebraska Now
- ➤ Three-time Nebraska’s Strongest Man Dillon Gartner hosted Lincoln's first Nebraska’s Strongest competition on November 8 with over three dozen competitors, including Texas strongman Trey Mitchell and Bellevue's Katie Williams, as raffle proceeds benefited the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation. The event tested athletes' strength and endurance—they had to eat between 5,000 and 10,000 calories daily and perform challenging lifts, showing that both men and women met the tough physical and mental demands. - ➤ Nebraska’s Huskers beat Samford 80-46 and recorded 17 steals, with Hailey Weaver and Callin Hake each making four steals—helping the team start the season 2-0 and gear up for their Creighton game on Nov. 12. KNOP
