- ➤ Lincoln Community Playhouse is staging 'Diary of Anne Frank' with police sergeant Wendi Ground returning to acting after more than 20 years as she takes on the role of Miep Gies—a part that draws on her family's World War II history. - ➤ Mayor Gaylor Baird thanked local community organizations for their role in Lincoln's first Local Food Challenge, which ran from July to October and saw 21 groups place 289 orders with 38 local farmers — nearly $600,000 was spent supporting local producers. - ➤ A recent study by First Five Nebraska shows that Nebraska lost 34.9% of its child care workers between 2018—2023, the biggest drop among six Midwest states.
