COMMUNITY NEWS

  • People’s City Mission in Lincoln hosted its fifteenth Starry Nights fundraiser at Gateway Mall on Sunday as 418 people used a 250-bed shelter during the season’s first big snow. Pastor Tom Barber said the nonprofit is working with local churches to use gymnasiums—seeking more space for those in need—and urged community donations to help provide shelter and food.  KOLN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City crews continued winter cleanups in Lincoln after slick road conditions were reported on Sunday morning — officials are working to clear hazards and improve road safety. The department is actively monitoring the situation as drivers face ongoing challenges.  Lincoln Journal Star

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Nebraska volleyball team is the #1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament and will play Long Island University on Friday, Dec. 5. The undefeated Huskers host opening weekend matches+and they will face Kansas State or San Diego next at the Devaney Center+ as they advance in the tournament.  KOLN
  • First-year head coach Dani Busboom Kelly led the Nebraska volleyball team to a perfect 30-0 regular season — the best record in 25 years — and they became the first team to go unbeaten in the Big Ten since 2009.  Nebraska Now
  • Lincoln Youth Football is expanding its facilities—building two new regulation high school fields to serve 1,200 youth participants each season.  Lincoln Journal Star
