- ➤ On Thursday, a record 2,600 coats from the Channel 8 Coat Drive were delivered early Friday to People’s City Mission, which distributed 300 coats by noon to help residents stay warm. Volunteers organized each allotment so that every person could receive up to two coats. Nebraska Now
- ➤ Connie Wilson is the house mom at UNL Delta Tau Delta, where she prepares breakfast at 7 a.m. for 65 fraternity members and offers guidance as they start their day. She brings a steady, caring presence to the chapter after a long career and years of travel. Nebraska News Service

- ➤ Lincoln’s Nebraska Department of Education will launch a 4-year plan in 2026 to reduce chronic absenteeism that affected over 65,000 students last year. Commissioner Brian Maher said the initiative tackles pandemic-related shifts that moved students to digital learning. KOLN

- ➤ Nebraska lawmakers passed a bill to unlock up to $1 billion in federal Medicaid funding that began arriving in August and continued in October to support rural hospitals - Gov. Pillen signed the law even as hospital leaders worry about future cuts. KNOP
